Vive Le Weekend

Happy Friday dear readers!  I hope you had a great week. Did you see these wonderful Valentine's on Mer Mag? {via Freshly Picked}  I love getting my son involved in making and assembling our Valentine's together.  And these would be so simple to do as a last minute project.  {Which totally applies to us}.

As we get our water color grove on, here are a couple inspiring things I saw on the interwebs this week.

  1. Everything about this makes me happy.

  2. I want to be friends with her.

  3. Some fun dinner ideas for Monday.

What are you planning for Valentine's Day?  We try to keep things simple around here, but I'd love to hear how you celebrate at your house.

Happy Friday

Don't you just want to move into AB Chao's garage?  Her garage is just as fun as she is.  I met her at Alt Summit last week and she's a gem and so, so fun.  I mean who has a garage as awesome as this?  Only someone as cool as AB.

So what do you have planned for the weekend?  Something fun, I hope.  We are going to enjoy our little heat wave.  It suppose to be a whoppin' 50 degrees today.  So I'm pretty sure me and the neighbors are going to have a pool party.  It will be awesome.

So check this out.  I found some neat stuff I want to share with you.  Buckle your seatbelt and enjoy the ride, my friends.

  1. I want to make this scarf.

  2. Add this to my wishlist.

  3. The perfect office.

  4. I really like this sofa.

  5. Add a little spring to your table.

I hope you have an incredible weekend.  We'll see you back here on Monday.  xo

Hello Friday

Wow!  Friday is already here!  I hope you're enjoying it wherever you are reading this.  We've been busy around these parts.

{my new boots}

Can you believe that Porter is already 3 months old?

He's gaining weight at rapid speeds these days.  I stepped on the scale with him this week and he weighs a whopping 17 lbs.  Let's just say he's serious about his milk.

I've also been busy planning for ALT Summit.  It's a conference for design, photography, fashion, and creative type bloggers and I can't wait for it to come!  I'm very excited, but also a little nervous.  Have you seen the great line up of people that are going to be there?  It's overwhelming!

I promise to keep you in the loop while I'm there. In the meantime, I'm off to plan my wardrobe.  I've been formulating outfits in my head all week, and now it's time to see if they look as good as I think I will.

While I'm off doing my own catwalk, enjoy some inspiration I've seen around the interwebs this week.

  1. I made this Garlic Chicken Pizza this week and it's now my favorite meal.  {Bonus: it's pretty healthy too!}

  2. Give me a paint brush now.  Superneutral decorating palettes.

  3. Words to live by.

  4. This color palette sums up how I feel right now.

  5. DIY: make a lovely woven trivet.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Thanks for reading, and we'll see you Monday.

By Gosh, It's Friday!

It's the last weekend before Christmas.  Are you ready?

We were planning on staying home for the holidays, but are making an unexpected visit out to Utah now.  One of my favorite people in the world passed away this week so we'll be spending time with family reminiscing of memories and good times had with Grandpa Telford.  He sure knows how to go out in style.  He passed away on his 97th birthday.

{Grandpa Telford in England in 1937}

And as you can see above, he was a stylish man.  Here are a couple other stylish things I'd like to share with you:

  1. I can't stop looking at these homes.  {via sfgirlbybay}

  2. I wish I had a kid with curls like these.

  3. If you're curious, I'm doing my christmas gifts dandee style from now on.  Simple and sweet.  Hooray!

  4. Cute holiday gift tags - printable & free.  {via How About Orange}

  5. I love pretzels and I love scarves so this makes sense.

  6. I really want to try this, but I'm kind of scared.

  7. I'm speaking at ALT Summit and I can't wait.  Will you be there?

So, tell me.... where are you going for the holidays?  Are you going to be in Utah?  If so, wanna hang?

Friday Link Love

After a short week last week with Thanksgiving and all, this week seemed super long to me.  I am more than ready for the weekend.  How about you?

Today I will be spending most of the day trying to find an outfit to wear to a Holiday party tonight.  I'm in that in between stage where most of my clothes "fit", but not quite right.  Know what I mean?

While I rummage through my entire closet trying to pull a Tim Gunn and "make it work", here are a couple fun and inspiring things I saw on the interwebs this week.

I need to remember this for next year.  A great winter wreath made with acorns.  Genius!

A free cute printable holiday decoration paired with cute glitter trees.

I read through Sweet Paul's holiday magazine this week.  It was perfection.

Design Mom is at it again!  Look at these beautiful bottles full of light.

Great last minute advent calendar ideas.  {I won't tell anyone you skipped a couple days, I promise}.

I also create mood boards for Polka Dot Peacock.  Check out my most recent ones: a classic blue and white boy's room and a pink and green girlie room.

I hope have a great weekend, and we'll see you back here on Monday!

Happy Friday

How's your Friday treating you so far?  I hope well.  We're cuddling in bed this morning to keep warm.  Boy, it's getting cold here!

While we snuggle, I want to share a few things I've seen on the interwebs this week.

I really, really want to throw a popcorn party.

I'm not quite ready for the holidays, but this wrapping paper is lovely.

I'm in love with these hanging beds.

Have you voted for your favorite in Design Sponge's Alphabet Contest?

Want some inspiration?  I write for Polka Dot Peacock.  Check out this toddler boy's room I put together this week.

Do you have big plans for the weekend?  I hope it  treats you well.  We'll be continuing some work on the downstairs bathroom.  These days, our projects are taking a little longer with two kiddos around.  :)

See you back here on Monday!

Hello Friday

Ah. A big sigh of relief.  It's Friday.  And that makes me happy.

Have I told you how much I love this little guy?

This picture was taken in our photo studio downstairs.  And I love it.  And isn't the hat so cute?  My dear friend, Lisa made it.

Here's a few other cool things I've seen on the interwebs this week:
Bringing the outside in.  Interior Barn Doors.

Can't find your phone?  This should come in handy. {via new to me blog oh, hello friend}

Book pages folded into words.

Kid's table ideas for holiday entertaining.

Using pom-poms as decor.

Giving a new meaning to recycled furniture.

I hope you all have a great weekend and we'll see you back here on Monday!

Friday Love

I am currently snuggled up in bed with my two sons.  I swear there is nothing more calming than having a newborn around.  I just want to snuggle with my little chicks in bed all day long.  It's been two weeks since Porter's been born and it's been a magical two weeks.  I'm trying to cherish every.single.moment.

Here's a couple things I've seen online this week that I wanted to share with you.

Wouldn't it be fun to recreate this bubble chandelier?  {pictured above}

Avie Designs makes my business cards, and now look at her freebie meal planner.

6th Street Design has some great tips this week about designing with kids in the home.

Look at this car playmat.  If it took Jill 50 hours, I guarantee it would take me at least 200.

You know how much I love spray paint so this fall decorating idea is right up my alley.

Holy potholes!

I hope you have a great weekend.  We'll be trying to enjoy the weather as much as possible before winter sets in.  See you on Monday!

Hello Friday

I'm so glad that Friday is here.  It's been long awaited.  And actually, if everything goes right, I should be having a baby right now.

Seriously, and yes I cheated.

I scheduled this post so we didn't miss each other too much over the weekend.  And I needed something to do in my last days of nesting.

The doctor decided to take the baby a little early because they are predicting a large baby so we went ahead and scheduled a inducement for last night.  I'm sure I'll be here on Monday to tell you all about it.  Or at least post some pictures.

In the meantime, here are some great things I've seen around the interwebs in the last few days.  Enjoy!

Amazing laundry room makeover.  {pictured above}

A teacher's lounge I wouldn't mind hanging out in.

Loving these Dwell Studio fabrics.

Cute DIY Halloween costumes.

A wonderful display of chopsticks.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  I plan on seeing you back here on Monday!

Friday Link Love

Hello wonderful Fresh Nest readers & happy Friday!

Yesterday we had a bit of a scare-  it was a long day and I'm very thankful that today is Friday.  I was admitted to the hospital because they were concerned my membrane had ruptured.  Good news: it hadn't, but regardless, it was a day filled with various emotions in addition to a lot of poking and prodding to figure out what was going on.  Turns out it was just a bladder infection.

So no baby just yet, but an awesome bladder infection instead.

And upon leaving the hospital, the nurse gave me a muscle relaxer to "slow things down" because I was having contractions frequently enough due to the stress.  I gladly took as I was completely zapped.  I went home and slept the night away.

I woke up this morning completely exhausted.  So to re-energize this morning, I'm looking at all the incredible things I've seen online this week.  Feel free to share your inspiration in the comments below.

DIY Silhouette Poster - wouldn't this be fun to do for the whole family? {pictured above via poppytalk}

Paper Owl Mobile.

The talented Princess Lasertron launches a dress line.  And it's nothing less than amazing!

Easy DIY Cork Trivets.

Cute bubble chalkboard.

An outdoor party that makes me happy.

I think I need this hanging in my office.

What have you seen around the interwebs this week that you'd like to share?  Have a great weekend!

Friday Lovin'

Hello everyone!  I can't tell you how happy I am that it's Friday.  It's been a long week, and I've hit the stage where I'm not feeling well 99% of the time.

Can someone please just get this baby out of me?

To keep my mind off things, I've been searching out inspiring things this week.  Here are a few neat things I've seen.

This is totally going on my sewing project list.  {pictured above via How About Orange}

I would love to eat at a stenciled table.

Fashion illustrations that I would love to hang in a studio.

Making fabric prints with tape.

Check out P.S. - I Made This... and her lovely book that just came out.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  We'll see you back here on Monday!
