It's Friday!  Yay!!

I feel about a million times better today.  Thanks for all your kind words-- I have such sweet, sweet friends and I appreciate the reminder.

I'm ready for the weekend and so glad it's here. What do you have planned?

I spotted this cute photo of this bride, Elizabeth and it captivated me.  Isn't it stunning?  You can see the rest of Elizabeth's wedding here.  It was such a simple, but elegant wedding.  Just the way I like it.

Best Party Invitations Ever

Even more than throwing a party, I love a good invitation.  Shortly after we found out we were moving to Minnesota, Jordan Ferney posted these on her blog.  She gave step by step instructions that were easy to follow.  Once I saw her post, I decided we needed to have a going away party, and these needed to be the invitations.





There are just a few things I would add to her instructions:

1.  I found Walmart had the best price on poppers (3 for $1.50).  I manually unloaded these so the spring would stay in place.

2.  These are not the cheapest invitations to make or ship.  It was around $3.50 per invitation (including shipping).  I was okay splurging on the invitations as we only invited about 20 families.

3.  The reaction of recipients were priceless!  Just about every person that received an invitation contacted us directly after receiving it.

If you don't follow Oh Happy Day, you need to.  Jordan is full of wonderful ideas and tips.  She is a genius when it comes to party planning and staging.  And, she's generous.  Not only does she give her lovely readers tons of ideas, she also gives us printables so you can easily recreate the incredible ideas she has (like the invitation above).

She also is super generous today.... she is giving away a week trip to Paris!

Happy Friday

Don't you just want to move into AB Chao's garage?  Her garage is just as fun as she is.  I met her at Alt Summit last week and she's a gem and so, so fun.  I mean who has a garage as awesome as this?  Only someone as cool as AB.

So what do you have planned for the weekend?  Something fun, I hope.  We are going to enjoy our little heat wave.  It suppose to be a whoppin' 50 degrees today.  So I'm pretty sure me and the neighbors are going to have a pool party.  It will be awesome.

It's my party and I can't freakin' wait!

In a few months I will be turning the fabulous 30. And honestly, I couldn't feel better about it. The nice people at Minted selected me and my to be party (to be determined) as inspiration for their invitation contest. The designers were given a couple pictures of me and a short bio and were challenged to design something for my "swanky party". Go and check it out and vote on your favorites. The winning invitation will makes it's debut as my party invitation. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Before Caden's birthday party, invitations were sent out and decorations were hung with a balloon theme in mind.

Many, many balloons were raised in effort to surprise our little one.

And surprised he was. A little joy for all.

We enjoyed our little party amongst our dearest of family and friends.


And cake was devoured by all.

Especially by this cuite pie.

I am so excited for the weekend, as per usual, I know. How can you not be excited about sunny weather and busy summer plans?

On the schedule this weekend is:

• BBQ celebration for my sister who passed her boards to be a nurse practitioner!!! Yay Kris!!


• I heard word of a possible pedicure on Saturday! Yay toes!


• Wedding on Saturday night & seeing lots of people I don't see very often! Yay old family friends and yummy cake!


• Father's Day celebration for first time daddy, Casey! Yay Fathers and yay Casey!!!
