Monday Redesign: Dining Room

Today I wanted something that was calming yet playful and fun!  This is what I came up with!  I want to move right in!

Dining Room Inspiration Board

1. Riverside Metro Dining Table -This table has a hidden leaf that folds out for company!

2. Tufted Button Chair from Walmart (Yep...Walmart is stepping up the furniture offerings online and there's some good finds to be had there!)

3. Glass Ball Chandelier from Anthropologie.  (Or try to make one yourself...it's not too hard!)

4. Amy Butler's Coventry Rug from Modern Rugs. Swoon!  That rug makes my heart sing!

5. Paint Color from Benjamin Moore:  416 Tasty Apple Such a happy bright color to dine with!

6. Walter Starburst Wall art from Design Public.

What about dark walls?

Do you ever wonder if people paint their walls in dark colors?  I've seen some great rooms and some not so great rooms with dark paint.  Below is a sneak peak of Enormous Champions dining room!  I love the darker color on the wall!  You'd think that it would overpower the space, but the room still feels so light and airy!  The wood tones help to warm up the space as well!

It almost makes me want to try a darker color on my own walls!  What about you?  Would you try a darker color after seeing this picture?

Before Redesign- Addiana's Kitchen

Kitchen redesign

We are going to try something new this week.  We will still feature our redesigns on Monday, be we would like to hear your ideas as well.  This is Addiana's kitchen and she stated that she has trouble knowing what size/shape of table to place in here due to the angled wall.  I had her answer a couple questions before I started on the design.

What are your favorite design store/home décor stores?

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

  • Casual, creative and indecisive

What is the most important thing you’d like done with the space?

  • For it to be functional, family gathering spot

What are two of your favorite colors?

  •  A true red and a light green sort of green apple

What are two of your least favorite colors?

  • Yellow and purple

Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?

  • I would love for my Rodney White print that is 36"x36" to be incorporated into the design. The saying of this art piece is something I try to focus on: "We tend to seek happiness when happiness is actually a choice."

Look for the redesign to be featured on Monday!  In the meantime, please share your thoughts.  What sort of table would you place in the kitchen?  Are there other items or decorations you would recommend?
