Peonies Make Me Happy

I love peonies so much!  My mother has always had quite a few peony bushes and I remember cutting a few flowers in the spring to take to my teacher at the end of the school year.

Spring Planting

In more southern areas it's the perfect time to start your spring planting.  This week I started some cilantro and basil because I use these a TON, especially in the summer.  Though these two herbs look different I still like the look of garden markers.  Here's a few I found that looked fun:

Hello Spring

Hello everyone! Tomorrow, I'm excited to venture of to NYC for a few days. It's a little bit of Toolulu business mixed with a little bit of fun. I'm pretty excited about it. It's been a long time since I've been there.

And I know a few of you were bummed that you missed my DIY interior design class last term. Well you're in luck! I'm teaching it again and it's filling up fast. The class starts on April 7th from 6:30-8:30 pm for 3 weeks. You can call 402.437.2700 to register.

Sassy Delight

You have to excuse my sassy rants lately. This happens to me every spring. I wake up with a ornery chip on my shoulder and start speaking my mind. It is kind of a fun passtime for me. I enjoy making fun of life... that is, if I'm in the mood. Just ask my husband what happens when I'm not in a making-fun mood.

What? He's not here to tell you.

Too bad, you will just have to use your imagination.

Oops, my bad. I just can't control this sassiness. Is that what you call it? If you call it something bad, I don't want to know. Just like I changed the picture of my yellow shoes the other day to start getting votes in my favor. It's because I'm competitive and don't want to loose. I also don't want to be called bad things. Sassiness is okay. I'm a poor loser.

Riding a bicycle is more fun

It feels like spring outside and I love it {of course without the crazy tornadoes yesterday!}. Every spring, I attempt to do some spring cleaning and this year we are really going to try and stick to deep cleaning a room every Saturday. Our schedule will look something like this:

• Kitchen- refrigerator (clean inside & pull out), blinds, detailed mop (aka hands & knees... does anyone else out there fear that their traditional mop just doesn't reach it all?), regrout & clean stove (thank you self cleaning oven!)
• Bathrooms- deep clean everything & regrout
• Living room & laundry room- deep clean (including baseboards), pull out washer & dryer
• Bedrooms- deep clean, pull out furniture, blinds

I know, spring cleaning isn't the most exciting thing in the world. So tell me what projects you are working on. What is the thing you hate to do most around the house?

Craving Spring

The weather has been nothing but delightful lately and I'm loving it! Nothing like having spring on the horizon. It makes me want to throw a party like this as seen on A Field Journal.
