Happy New Year!

{Caden with a orange sticker stuck in his hair. The sticker says "Cutie". That's exactly how I'd label him!}

2010 is here! So exciting, right? We had such a great year... one that I will never forget. A couple highlights for me:
  1. Caden's 1st birthday
  2. Stretching myself beyond what I ever thought was imaginable {Launching Fresh Nest Design and Toolulu, being featured in Glamour magazine, speaking at events}
  3. Downsizing my "work" hours-- though I am working probably more than I ever have before... it's just from the comfort of home.
  4. Casey going back to school for his MBA-- yay!
I love the first of the year. Things slow down and it gives me an opportunity to step back and reflect on the New Year. I always like to set goals as it's fun to look back and see if I'm anywhere where I thought I would be. Last year I set some great goals. Some were achieved, some still need work, but 2009 honestly threw me for a loop. Never in my mind did I think I would be launching two new projects that have opened the doors for so many opportunities. I knew that I really wanted to work on being home with Caden more and that propelled me into thinking bigger, and concentrating on my own goals and how I could get there.

I know 2010 is going to be a great year! There are already some wonderful things that I'm working on and can't wait to share them with you. My goals for 2010 are broad and wonderful. This year it's about about family and focus.

  1. Focus on what I'm good at. 2009 was the year where I said, hey I'm good at that, hire me. And though that worked on getting me home, now I have too many things going on. I will likely need to downsize even more and focus on what I really, really enjoy {but what still pays the bills}.
  2. Set a schedule and abide by it. Working from home is wonderful, most of the time. But there are days where things don't go well, and those are usually the days when I don't have a plan. I am going to segment my days so I can give Caden the time he needs and limit the time I spend on other projects.
  3. Take a trip as a family and relax. The most cherished times with family is when I am away from the day to day spending time with them. I want to do this more.
  4. Workout at least 3 times a week. I'm back at the gym and am doing good so far. I would love to lose 10 lbs. and get fit before we decide to get pregnant again.
Here's to a great year!

Your goals sound good. Good luck with them, especially getting in shape - it makes pregnancy and recovery so much easier. I was in the best shape of my life for this last pregnancy and it was great.
