Watch out! We had a ladybug, SuperMan and Tigger out on the loose last night!
Caden was going to be a Storm Trooper, but at the last minute changed to SuperMan. (In my opinion, it was the better choice). Porter caught on quick to Trick-or-Treating and kindly told everyone "thank you" as they dropped candy into his bucket. Gabby went to a few of the neighbor's houses so they could pinch her cheeks, but then she stayed inside where it was nice and warm.
At the end of the night, Porter realized one piece of candy at a time just wasn't enough.
And Caden had fun going back to his blonde hair. As you can tell by this picture, he had a fun Halloween.

Halloween 2011
I've always loved Halloween and now I love it even more. Caden was so excited to go trick-or-treating this year. And it showed.... he brought home a heaping bag of candy.
Boss Porter took a night off from the mafia and helped me hand out candy to the kiddos. Our favorite costumes were a Christmas Tree (complete with glow sticks) and a Barrel of Monkeys.
Welcome November.... please be kind to us!

The Best Halloween Costume Ever- The Meatball
My friend, Alix of Modern Kiddos happens to have one of the cutest kids I've ever seen and he is so clever too. Take a look at this...
I tried to envision what I would say if one of my sons told me he wanted to be a meatball for Halloween.
"A meatball? Like spaghetti and meatballs?"
"Yeah, mom! It's going to be awesome!!"
"Um, how do you propose we do this? Put you in a red hamster ball? How would you go trick or treating?"
Enter my son's look of defeat.
"Why don't you just be like the other kids. Iron Man is cool."
Yup, I totally crushed his dreams. And I've encouraged peer pressure and jumping off bridges too. I totally rock.
I like to think I'm creative, but oh Lordy, Target just makes it way too easy on us. $20 and I have a costume? Okay, deal.
Here's to next year. Hopefully we can be as awesome as Alix and her son.

Happy Halloween!
This picture pretty much sums up our last week.... Bliss. Pure bliss.
Grandma Cindy {or Ma, as Caden calls her} came out for a visit last week and we had so much fun. Caden carved his first pumpkin with Grandma's help. And got more attention than he's had in awhile.
All this while I caught up on sleep, dealt with feeding issues, and baby blues.
We are so thankful for Grandma Cindy and her taking time out of her busy schedule to come help us. We love you!!Caden battled dressing up this year, but we finally dressed him as a Husker football player for the church Trunk or Treat on Saturday. Little did we know that we'd win Mizzou, and Helu (#10) would be the key player in the game. I think Caden received about twice as much candy from people because of his costume. And Porter was a cute little pumpkin. A nice and snugly one.

Halloween Inspiration
It's one of my favorite times of year. I love fall, and I love Halloween. So many great parties and events to look forward to in the coming weeks. I'm a little behind in decorating the house, but here are a couple inspiration pieces for you.
From left: Martha Stewart, Pottery Barn, circlelinestudio, Hostess with the Mostess
From left: Country Living, Good Housekeeping, tucker reece, Amy Atlas
Are you gearing up for the Halloween season? Are there different areas of your house that you change out and decorate for every season/holiday? I absolutely love fall and cooler weather it brings. Now if I can just decide what I'm going to be for Halloween... :)
