Porter is 15 months and has enjoyed this game for a little while now. It's perfect when I need him focused and quiet for a little bit--- think church or waiting in the doctor's office.
SUPPLIES:
- Pipe cleaners (I cut a few pipe cleaners into three to fit into the bottle).
- Bottle that has a lid with holes (large spice jar, parmesan cheese bottle).
And there you have a fun little toy for your tike to play with. So simple, right?!

We've done various versions of this for James, too, and I love it! Our latest now that he's older is toothpicks in a spice container with very small openings. He seems to like the added challenge, and I like that he's getting better and better with his fine motor skills.
Such a great idea, Cami! I will keep this in mind as Porter gets older.
Love this idea. I only hope that my 12 month old boy will be able to sit still long enough to do it! Can't wait to try when he gets a little older.
Deb, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting this! I took this to church this week and Alice stayed mostly busy AND quiet for 2 hours with this game. No small miracle since it is lunch and nap time. :) Thanks again!
This makes me sooooo happy, Joni! Thank you for letting me know!
I LOVE this idea! Such a great fine motor skill toy that keeps young kids busy and quiet for a while! Thanks for linking up to Fun Stuff Fridays!
I did this with my son today and am posting about it on my blog tomorrow. I linked back to you. I absolutely love what you have going on here in your corner of the web.
Such wonderful ideas!!!! I want to make some of these for B'day presents for some little friends. I thought about the pipe cleaner/spice jar, I'd like to paint a strip of brown around the bottom of the container and paint a few grass stems.....add a few pipe cleaners in shades of brown/tan and you have a worm garden! Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you, Wanda!! I love your idea!
