I found this beautiful artwork while poking around on flickr the other day. Tanya spent 160 hours on completing this patchwork wall art-- complete with 1,321 squares at the size of a coffee table. Doesn't that just make your back hurt?
It reminded me of a project I did back in college in art class. Our assignment was to take a black and white picture and turn it into color-- focusing on the shades. This is a picture of Shania Twain {I believe from an issue of Rolling Stone, era 1997}. I chose to do this picture of her because she is stunning, as always. I have always wanted to proudly hang it somewhere, but have never been able to find the right spot. The hours I spent hunched over this seemed endless and that's probably why I love it so much.
