Flashback Wednesdays

When I was growing up, I loved friendship bracelets. I had arms that were filled with them because I remember you couldn't take them off for some reason.
I remember taking road trips with the family or to church camp and working on my bracelets. I would usually clip them to my knee as shown here or use a pillow if I had one handy.
Then there were also friendship pins. Remember these? I remember attaching them to my shoes.
Did you have arms full of friendship bracelets & shoes full of friendship pins?

the bracelets - yes
the pins- not so much

In fact I have two on my wrist right now that match the ones my twins are wearing.

If you wear them until they fall off your friendship will last forever or some crazy thing like that...

Ours have been on over a year and I'm thinking I may need to 'help' them fall off- they are starting to bug me! The bracelets- not the twins! :)

I remember both. In fact, I used to have a little business when I was in 3rd/4th grade where I would make friendship pins for people. I would carry around my little bag of beads and customize them. I used to charge people like $.01/bead---except for the big, pretty ones. Those were a nickel.

I can't believe I remember all of this.

It also seems just so classic me. I haven't changed much.

I remember ordering a little book (from a book order... sigh) that taught how to make friendship bracelets, with funny names like the sidewinder. I thought it was so cool!
