Happy New Year everyone!! I thought it would be fun to look back at what things cost in the 80's and 90's. It's amazing how much things have increased over the years.

1980
Cost of a new home: $76,400
Median Household Income: $17,710
Cost of a first-class stamp: $0.15
Cost of a gallon of regular gas: $1.25
Cost of a dozen eggs: $0.91
Cost of a gallon of Milk: $2.16

1990
Cost of a new home: $149,800

Today

When I was 16 or 17, and first started driving,I remember the gas being $.81 a gallon! Isn't that crazy! It was in Missouri where the gas was usually lower then the national average. Makes me feel old!


It would be interesting to see what the cost of college is for each decade.
