Wow! I am so impressed by the bids submitted so far. Keep bidding as this is for a great cause. As Design Mom said "I told Ben Blair that I'm hoping people are in a public radio mindset. Like when you hear the NPR commentators say: "pledge your membership of only $75.00 and we'll send you this canvas tote bag with our logo on it." You know the tote bag is worth maybe $5. But it's not about that. You're looking for a way to be generous and supportive. And the tote bag is just a bonus."

Nie Nie Day

Have you heard? Today is Nie Nie Day as declared by Design Mom. I know that I have already posted some of my thoughts on Nie Nie, but let me just expound a little bit. I have never met her or seen her in real life. I have merely been a reader of her blog for nearly 2 years. I have conversed with her a couple times via email about random posts that have touched my heart, such as this one and this one. We also exchanged recipes, and she has some G-O-O-D recipes. Check them out here. She is just such a delightful person and brings joy to everyone around her.

For updates on Nie Nie and her family, go here. I must say that since the accident, I have thought a lot about them. I think about her and her husband and the battles that they are experiencing. I also think a lot about their 4 young children. I want to do all that I can to help them. Design Mom has inspired us all to give on this very honorable Nie Nie Day and I have decided to participate. All of the money raised will go to help the Nielson family- to maintain their household while they are recovering and pay for their medical bills which are reported to be well into the millions. There are many ways you can help. There is a link on my sidebar in which you can give directly to them, if you would like to donate. And today, I am hosting 3 different silent auctions to help the cause. Design Mom also has a post with all the other silent auctions going on today. Please check them out. As I stated previously, ALL MONEY raised will go directly to the Nielson Fund... shipping will be paid by me.

Where do I place my bid?

In the comments. I will place the first bid, such as "I bid $10". The next bidder submits a comment with their bid, "I bid $40". And so on, and so on.

What amount can I bid?
Please keep all bids to an even $1 (no change, please). i.e. if the bid is $10.00, then the next bid should be $11.00 not $10.50.

How do i know what the highest bid is?
Check the comments. It will be the most recently posted comment.

When does the auction end?
This Sunday, August 31st @ 10:00 PM CST

What if I win the auction?
After the close of the auction I will post the winner and their bid. Please contact me with your information after you win at DCPHOTO1 at GMAIL dot COM.

How do I pay for my winnings?
A paypal payment will be directly sent to the Nielson Fund. After you have paid, send the receipt to me and I will ship your winnings off.
