That's What A Friend Is

Book: That's What A Friend Is
Author & Illustrator: P.K. Hallinan

I love this book so much.  It's one of my favorites to read to Caden.  He thinks the illustrations are great, and I would have to agree.  Every time we read it, it brings a smile to my face.

It reminds me of all the great friends I've had through the years and all the little crazy things we've done together.  Is it just me, or does friendship get harder as we get older?  I feel life is so busy that it's hard to squeeze in a random act of kindness some weeks.  I've been trying to be a better friend this year.  To be a better listener, to give of myself more willingly, or just write a short note to express my appreciation.  Sometimes it doesn't feel like much, and I wish I could always do more.  But sometimes all we need is a little thoughtfulness to push us along and know that someone is thinking of us to make all the difference in our own little world.

This makes me happy! I love this author's books - we have two, one that's called "How do I love you" and the other is "My daddy and me" that I gave to Jon to tell him I was pregnant with James. I love reading both of them, because I agree they are adorable and fun - pictures and words! I may have to go out and buy this friend one!

Glad to hear that you love them too! (And that it made you happy!!) I saw all the other books on his website and I'm tempted to pick up a couple more. This was a lucky garage sale find.
