Giveaway: Spread the Holiday Cheer

One of my family's traditions is to get together and make Christmas goodies.  After we finish our baking marathon, we spread the Christmas Cheer by giving the goodies our neighbors and friends.

One of my favorite treats to give is Bugle Snack Mix.  It's easy to prepare, and it's delicious.


Bugle Snack Mix
14-18 cups plain Bugles {2- 7.5 oz bags}
6 cups Cheez-It crackers
6 cups pretzels
7 oz. bag Goldfish
1 1/2 cups peanuts
10 oz. Orville Redenbacher's butter popcorn oil
2 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Powdered Dressing Mix

Mix together in a brown paper sack and shake.  Bake on cookie sheets at 250 degrees for 45 minutes.

This year, I'm using Rubbermaid TakeAlongs to make it easy for giving and personalizing them with Sharpies.  I decorated the containers with simple snowflakes and a large simple ribbon.


I also asked my friend and talented artist, Anthony Pafford to help me decorate the TakeAlongs, and he didn't let me down.  Look at these beauties.




I'm pretty sure my friends are going to like me even more now. {thanks, Pafford}

I love fudge at the holidays. Well I love it all the time, but not everyone else does, so it's easier to make now because others will eat it too.

i make tons of cookies every yr to give to my 3 kids' teachers, but the biggest hit is always my 7 layer bars & dirty snowballs!! i have teachers they never had asking for some :)

I love the designs! I look forward to divinity each year, without the nuts (have enough of those in my family). I only get it once a year so need it to last from Christmas through New Years. the container has to be airtight and durable; rocks of sugar just are not the same as the light, fluffy smoothness of divinity that melts in your mouth. Mmmmm!

I make mint chocolates for the neighbors every year- yum! But this year I'm really hoping someone makes some toffee or caramel and chocolate dipped pretzels...

I make biscochitos, a traditional New Mexico cookie. They are flavored with anise seed and the longer they are stored, they better they taste. But they never last very long!

This year my mom and sister and I tried branching out and getting some different cookie recipes to try. My favorite out of the four kinds we've made so far are the raspberry thumbprints. However to give away I'd like to make some caramel corn and I LOVE you container idea!!!

Chocolate covered pretzel rods...oh and last year someone introduced me to caramel covered marshmallows rolled in rice krispies. Yum!

I have a recipe for Mexican butter cookies (I think they're usually served at weddings) that's just amazing - it wows me every time I make it!

My great-grandma's fruitcake cookies! They are way better than traditional fruit cake! But I am very tempted to try out that Bugle mix!

I always make fudge every year- but with 2 members of my family being diagnosed with Diabetes, I'm switching it up to homemade cinnamon bread.

I always look forward to my mom's pecan puffs. I think the recipe may have started out as Mexican wedding cookies, but over many years they've morphes into something far more delicate and wonderful

I like to make magic cookie bars each year. Those are the bars that have the graham cracker crust and sweetened condendensed milk with all kinds of yummy things like chocolate chips, coconut, and nuts...
