Fall is my favorite season (well, until spring comes around, anyways). Fall brings a newness with it. A fresh, crisp air... a much needed break from the summer's heat. It also brings a sense of tradition back into my life. Growing up, my family always had fall traditions. Carving pumpkins, making carmel apples, and my mom whipping up her fabulous seasoned apple cider. Yum! (Or yummo as Rachel Ray would say). Over the recent years, my family has started a new tradition. When the leaves are changing we head over to Nebraska City. This city is known for its trees as it's the home of arbor day. My family and I will be headed there soon.
What are your fall traditions?

No, i don't really have any fall traditions... but I'm not proud of that. I think I better start creating one! Thanks for sharing.
Fall doesn't exist for me until I have visited a pumpkin patch with my kids. I love the fresh air, the creativity, the country feel and the chili in a bread bowl. My favorites in the Eastern Nebraska area are Roca Berry's and Vala's.
Raking up a big pile of leaves... and then jumping in them with the kids.
Greetings,
Here in Austin it will be awhile before we really see fall. However, there are some leaves on the ground and you can just feel fall around the corner. One of our traditions is to take the kids to Sweet Berry Farms about an hour from our home. They have hay rides, pumpkins, you can make your own scarecrow. They also have kittens galore, homemade strawberry and pumpkin pop ice. I'm from Tulsa, so fall has always been a beautiful show. I miss those falls and I truly miss the winters (even the bad weather and freezing rain/sleet). One of my fav things to do id drive around the neighborhood and glance into peoples homes and see their Christmas trees.......you can imagine the stove is on and people are comfy cozy under a blanket.
