A couple weeks behind

Things have been more than crazy at the household lately. That's my excuse for the long overdue blogging. No complaints, though, really... I love being busy and Casey will often say that I fill up my schedule so I'm on the verge of insanity.

For Christmas, we went out to see Casey's family in the middle of nowhere, Utah. It was the first Christmas in 6 years that we were all together. Casey has such a fun family... if you know how vocal and loud Casey is, just take that times 6. It is awesome! Always something controversial to talk about, some game to play, or quilt to finish. His mom is really good at just letting us do nothing and just enjoy being together. Here are some of the fun things we did...
With Casey's family, it is a tradition to act out the story of Jesus's birth on Christmas Eve. We have a lot of fun getting creative with our costumes. I was the angel and Casey was one of the wise men.
This is Casey's youngest brother, Christian. He is eight. He kept asking Casey what he was getting for Christmas and Casey told him socks and underwear. He didn't like that... he wanted a remote control monster truck. We thought we would play a joke on him and wrap up underwear in a Hummer box. When he opened it, I think he was about to burst into tears. Until Casey brought the Hummer in. I know what you're thinking... what a cruel joke to play on an 8 year old. Sorry, but it was funny! We had a gingerbread house making contest. We would have come in 1st, but everyone felt bad for Casey's brother, Matthew. He spent 3 hours on his. It was really good... sorry I didn't get a picture. If you are wondering what the plastic ball is in the yard... it's one of those really annoying blow up snow globes.

That picture of Christian in the nativity scene is priceless, I was glad I clicked on it to see it bigger. . .he's really "feeling" his part don't you think?

Glad you had fun (how can you not with that crew?)

Wendy- I had a couple pictures to choose from and Christian is exactly the reason I decided to post this one. He is such a cutie!

Christy- Are you sure Casey isn't a wise arse? :) Every year we are back for Christmas, I am the angel. I must have done something right! :)
