Our little Jonzy is growing up!

Jonzy is growing up. He barely fits on my lap any more. I took him to the vet last week and he weighed in at 25 lbs. (3 weeks ago he was 16 lbs.) He has gained 50% of his weight in 3 weeks!!! Crazy, huh?

With the weight he has gained, I think he has gained energy also. He is like the energizer bunny... he just goes and goes and goes. It's nonstop. So this is the daily routine: Wake up and take him for a walk or run (depending on how ambitious I am at 5:30 in the morning), during lunch break we go for another walk (just a short one b/c I don't have much time) and then in the evening, we go for a long walk. If the long walk in the evening doesn't wear him out, we resort to this.....

Having Jonzy run next to Casey while he's biking. Our neighbors think this is the funniest or the weirdest thing they've ever seen. But it works. He comes in after this bike run and is exhausted. The way we like it. This way, Jonzy can run a couple miles in the evening too without us having to exert much effort.

If you ever come over, we will have to show you Jonzy's tricks. He has been going to puppy training once a week and so far he can sit, stay and shake. Soon he will be able to lay down.

So having this wonderful puppy has really made me question.... Am I ready for kids? I really don't think I could have both a puppy and a baby at the same time. I would go crazy. Jonzy requires a lot of attention and training right now. He also limits us quite a bit. Running errands has never been so hard. At least kids can come into the grocery store or Target with you. With both of us working full time, we like to spend all of our time with Jonzy when were not working. So it is hard to leave him at home when we go to run errands. With being in Waverly, running errands takes quite a while. We have to plan on at least an hour for traveling and an hour or two running errands. We have tickets to go to the College World Series tomorrow, but we are here thinking.... what are we going to do with Jonzy? He can only be in his kennel for about 4 hours at a time. So we will have to think on that one. I need to find a neighborhood kid that wants to babysit a dog. So this blog is a lot longer than I thought it was going to be, but in a nutshell I think the kids are going to have to wait a little while longer. Jonzy needs to grow up a little bit.

He is such a cutie! I love the pic of him running by the bike too. I'm sure you could find a neighborhood kid that could come and let him out and run around with him a little and get him back in. . .especially in the summer time.

And hey, sounds like you are ready for a kiddo==we always make sure that the kids are worn out for bedtime, it makes it so much easier!

They grow up so fast don't they? Mckenzie loves the pictures.

I really like your shorts. Where did you get them?

Wendy- I'm on the look out for a neighborhood kid to help out. I haven't found one that yet.

Hollie- I'm glad Mckenzie liked the pcitures. I got the shorts at JcPenny's and for a steal of a deal. I even wear them to work b/c I can dress them up to. How's that for mormon chic? :)

Too bad you don't live in my neighborhood. You could use the kid that comes over to my house DAILY (sometimes more than once a day) asking for jobs. At least he's asking for jobs to do and not just money.

I agree with the shorts! Cute!

Christy-
Too bad you have a harassing neighbor kid. Tell him he can walk all the way to Waverly and walk our dog and I will give hime $5 :) He would probably do it, huh?

Thanks for the debdbts. That made me laugh.... outloud!
