Whoa! It has been a hectic week for us. Business is booming at work and after work, things are busy too. In the evenings, I have been painting.... and let's just say, I'm taking a break! I started with the master bedroom, thanks to my wonderful sister Kris for volunteering and a big thank you to Breanna my 5 year old niece for helping! :) All went well until I underestimated the amount of paint. I was on brush duty and my sister and niece were on roller duty. I finished painting close to the ceiling and the trim and the "roller girls" got about half way through the room and we ran out of paint. Off to the paint store I went. Casey and I painted the second half of the room the next day. After we were all done, Casey said, "They just don't look like the same color." And I said, "Haven't you ever painted before??? The dry color looks darker because it's dry. They will dry the same, don't worry."
The next day, the colors still looked different. Close to the trim and ceiling it was dark and the rest of the walls were lighter. Off to the paint store I went because I didn't have enough paint to finish the whole room off.
When I got to the paint store, I told them that I needed more paint that matched this color. The gentleman argued with me and told me that their colors are very consistent. He mixed a new paint can and what do you know.... they were different colors.
To my dear Casey.... sorry for doubting you.... you were right!!!

Ugh, no fun. I hope the guy at least felt a little bad. . . I just got done doing the edging painting upstairs (I should say done for the night, not done, done.) So far I've decided I didn't like two of the colors I originally picked out, so I've painted, and re-painted. Whitneys room ended up too purpley and not pink like I wanted, and the bathroom looked like a shade of baby poop instead of dark tan. I figured I'd rather fix it now than later but yuck. I hope the rest of your painting goes well, and may all the colors match. . .
Oh so sorry to hear about your painting woes. That stinks when it doesn't turn out how you would like it to. I think I'm finally ready to pick up a paint brush so let me know if you need some help.
