After much packing and eating off of paper plates, my husband and I decided to take a break and watch MythBusters. For those of you who don't watch this show, you must... it is hilarious. Two main guys, Adam and Jamie take myths (or sometimes urban legends) and see if they are true or not. In this particular episode, they were trying to see if a person can 'flatus' themselves to death during their sleep. Flatus is another word for fart, but they didn't want to use the word fart because they were afraid it would offend some of the viewers.
So Adam is sitting in a tub full of water with a contraption right over is... uhum... ya know.... trying to catch the bubbles that the 'flatus' made in the water. Hilarious. We were cracking up. I was thinking... "This is the break I have needed from packing and walking in my maze like apartment. It feels so good to laugh."
Then the t.v. all the suddenly turns black. Casey and I look at each other... thinking... oh great, the DVR is all screwed up again. Eeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr..... pop... POP! Smoke begins to bellow out of the t.v. I looked at Casey and busted out in a belly laugh. I couldn't stop laughing. Then I looked at him and I think he was going to cry, so I tried to contain myself. He looked at me and said, "Dang it! What are we suppose to do now?" I consoled him and told him that we can watch t.v. on the small t.v. "But it's only 27 inches," he said. And I looked at him and said "Are you serious?" (Apparently going from 36" to 27" is a big deal.)
The thing about it is that this t.v. was brand new when we got it and that was only 3 years ago. Stupid RCA! Well, what do ya do.... it's one less thing to move, right????

I love it, one less thing to move. And I love Mythbusters too! Matt and I are addicted to that show. One of my faves is when they test to see if you can swing high enough to swing all the way over the top of the swing set. . .they basically but a rocket on their dummy guy to try and get him over the top. Hilarious! And hey, little tv's are great. Our best tv ever is the one that we have in our bedroom, it's one we got from my mom that we had in my house growing up, she got it for, (and I'm not kidding), Christmas 1979. It's a 17". I don't think they even make those anymore, but hey, best tv ever.
I just saw that episode and I was cracking up! I liked where the kite popped Torey in the jewels. Ha ha. I'm also a big fan of America's Funniest Home Videos (says a lot about me, I guess). Anyway, we DVR all the Mythbusters!
Wendy- I don't think I have ever seen the swing episode. Gotta love Buster, the dummy... he has had a rough life. I will take the pointer on the t.v. We will have to go to goodwill an see if we can find any 1979 models. I'm getting to be one of those "They just don't make them like they used to" people. Not good, not good.
Christy- You're making me cry.:) The word DVR just brings tears to my eyes. We miss it, how did we ever live without it??????
Yeah, get this Deb, it actually has a pull/push for the on/off, and to change the channels you actually touch the little metal thing next to the number. . .ancient, I tell you, and no remote, but I do remember the remote was the size of the first cell phones. . . but still the best tv we've ever had.
Christy, I have a video of Madison from when she was 2 that I need to send into AFV, that could be our ticket to the $100,000!!!
